Advice to seniors interested in a Reverse Mortgage
“Take your time and get all the facts before making a decision. Don't be afraid to ask questions and/or express your concerns. A Reverse Mortgage is a great program for the right senior.”
Brian Cooper, a Certified Reverse Mortgage Specialist, is well respected by his peers as being customer-focused, hard working professional; and, he is among a small group of mortgage specialists who works exclusively with seniors. His business is generated solely through the recommendations of his past and present senior clients.
“A big part of my success is giving people more than what they expect,” explained Cooper. “I always put the client's needs before my own and always do what's in their best interests, not mine.”
“I am passionate about what I do and I want to be the best,” added Cooper.“I want people in town to talk about how I helped them live more comfortably through their retirement years. I want people to say that that they knew exactly what was going on during the process and that they were treated professionally.”
Cooper added, “Working strictly with the senior population has taught me a lot, including dedication, perseverance, responsibility and a focused work ethic. I take my business seriously,” he said. “The clients' largest investment is in my hands, and I take pride in what I do.”
Cooper stresses the importance of taking a sincere interest in his customers' goals and their financial futures. “Asking the right questions and listening is so important in providing a good experience and uncovering the senior's needs. I try to do this on every call and believe it is one of the reasons I have been successful.”
Throughout the loan process, Cooper takes an educational approach with his senior customers. “Educating clients regarding the reverse mortgage process is very important to me” he said. “If I educate seniors about their options and planning for the future, instead of focusing on selling, together we will make the right decision.”
“I always value my clients and the referrals I receive," he says. “I try to find a common bond between the client and myself, and treat each one, whether a large business transaction or a small one, like I would want to be treated.”
Cooper isn't planning to retire anytime soon. “I still love the business of satisfying seniors and making a difference in their lives,” he said. “It is personally gratifying for me as I sleep comfortably at night knowing I’m doing what’s best for my senior clients.”
